In 2017, CRNNS requires that all RNs and NPs in Nova Scotia complete mandatory education as part of the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) and in order to receive a 2018 active-practising licence. There are three ways to complete the mandatory education: by joining a live webinar, watching a recorded presentation or completing a workbook.
On a regular basis, CRNNS provides education via webinar technology to nurses on CRNNS programs, policies, publications or on other regulatory topics relevant to nurses in Nova Scotia. Registration is required for all webinars and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Space is limited.
CRNNS also offers nurses the opportunity to learn at your own pace and at a time that is convenient for you. Organized by topic, each self-directed learning option offers you the chance to learn more about a regulatory topic of your choice.
CRNNS offers over 150 online publications and resources that can be accessed anywhere and at any time. With publications ranging from fact sheets to professional practice guidelines, our publication library will help you to find what you’re looking for in just a few moments.
The CRNNS Practice Consultants provide free education on regulatory topics related to your professional practice needs. The goal of each session is to help support you and a group of nurses in meeting their standards of practice and professional obligations. Sessions can also be customized to meet the needs in your practice environment. There are also a variety of ways to deliver the sessions, including face-to-face or through webinar technology.
In return for the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (hereinafter referred to as ‘CRNNS’) providing you with a user ID and password, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions of use for this and all future uses of the CRNNS Committee Portal through the use of your CRNNS user ID and password:
These terms and conditions of use may be amended from time to time. When this occurs, you will be presented with the new version and asked to indicate your acceptance once again before you are provided with access to the Committee Portal.
By accepting this agreement, and with each subsequent access to the Committee Portal, you are indicating your agreement to the terms and conditions of the preceding.
