There are several steps required to renew your 2019 active-practising licence:
Licence renewal opened on July 16, 2018 and most nurses have until October 31 to renew their 2019 licence. On payroll deduction? Keep scrolling for more information on when you must renew your licence if your employer submits your fees directly to us.
You must log into the Member Portal to access the licence renewal application.To safeguard your information, the portal is password protected and you must have your CRNNS registration number and personal password to log in and renew your licence. Click here for instructions on how to retrieve your registration number and portal password. There are also instructions on the homepage of the Member Portal.
There are important renewal dates to keep in mind to ensure that you have renewed your licence before November 1.
|JULY 16: the 2019 licence renewal opens. Starting on this date, you can renew your licence for the 2019 licensure year.|
|SEPTEMBER 4: You must renew your licence by this date if you are on payroll deduction and your employer submits the fee directly to us. If you do not renew by this date, your employer will not submit your fee directly to us on your behalf. Click here to learn more about payroll deduction.|
|SEPTEMBER 14: If you are an employer and have a payroll deduction plan, you must submit the renewal fees to CRNNS by this date.|
|OCTOBER 1: If you renew by this date, you will have your name entered to win the amount of your 2019 licence renewal fee.|
|OCTOBER 15: If you pay the fee yourself or are on payroll deduction and your employer reimburses you, you must renew by this date to guarantee that your licence is processed by October 31. This is due to the high volume of renewal applications submitted in October.|
|OCTOBER 31: the 2018 licence expires.|
|NOVEMBER 1: You must hold a 2019 licence on this date in order to work as an RN or NP in Nova Scotia on November 1.|
