Each year, a randomly selected group of nurses are selected to submit their learning plan to CRNNS for verification. This process is considered best practice and helps to verify that nurses are meeting the requirements of the program.
In 2018, 200 nurses were selected for verification and were notified by email and mail on or around March 15. To confirm whether you have been selected, please check your email and mailbox at this time.
If you are selected for verification, you must develop and submit your learning plan to CRNNS. Click here for information to help you develop a learning plan.
To help ensure your learning plan meets the criteria and is approved, it is strongly recommended that you review your learning plan using the tools below before it is submitted to CRNNS for review.
The CCP Pre-Submission Checklist is for you to review to ensure your plan is complete.
The CCP Learning Plan Criteria is a way for you to confirm that you have included all the components required for approval.
When you are confident that your learning plan is complete, the last step is to submit your learning plan to CRNNS by May 24, 2018. Please note: the contents of your self-reflection and self-assessment are confidential and are not to be sent with your learning plan.
There are 2 ways to submit your learning plan:
Website: If you developed your plan using the online template, your learning plan was submitted once you selected “Submit” at the bottom of the template. You should have received an automated thank you message when this occurred.
If you are selected for verification:
The role of the CCP Advisory Committee is to review any learning plans that have been identified by CRNNS staff as possibly not having met the learning plan criteria and to support the development of mandatory education study material and quiz, if required. The review of learning plans by the committee is an anonymous process and any identifying personal information about the nurse, like name and/or registration number, are removed before the learning plan is submitted to the committee for review. Are you interested in being a part of this committee? Click here to learn more about this committee work and to consider applying online by April 27, 2018.
All those selected for verification must submit a learning plan that meets CRNNS criteria to meet this CCP requirement and be eligible for an active-practising licence. Click here to learn more about what happens if you do not meet the requirements of CCP before the beginning of the next licensure year.
The 200 nurses selected for verification were notified by email and mail on or around March 15.
