If you’re looking to add a new role to your resume, look no further than the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) Advisory Committee. This committee began in 2017 and was the first of its kind in Nova Scotia, paving a new and collaborative way forward for CCP. Since the number of nurses selected for verification has grown from 100 in 2017 to 200 in 2018, so to have the needs of the Advisory Committee to add new members to this committee.

As a committee, members The role of the CCP Advisory Committee is review any learning plans that have been identified by CRNNS staff as possibly not having met the learning plan criteria and to support the development of mandatory education study material and quiz, if required. An orientation on the verification process, learning plan requirements and more is all provided to new committee member before any work is required.

“The CCP Advisory Committee was invaluable to the verification process last year because they helped to validate decisions made by staff and provided feedback on our processes overall,” shares CRNNS Practice Consultant Clare Brown. “This year, we are looking to add 3 or 4 new members to our team – even if they don’t have experience on a CRNNS committee or in the verification process since training is provided.”

If you are interested in working with other nurses across the province, participating in the continuing competence journey of others and build upon your leadership, team work and critical analysis skills, apply below to be a member of the CCP Advisory Committee by April 27. The successful candidates must be a CRNNS member in good standing, available for a meeting in early June and has not been selected for learning plan verification in 2018.
