The CRNNS team is pleased to share with the public, nurses and other stakeholders a digital copy of its 2017 Annual Report. New this year, the Annual Report is available one week in advance of our 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) – giving guests the opportunity to learn more about our organization’s work in 2017.
The 2017 Annual Report includes a message from our President & CEO, a snapshot of our major accomplishments in 2017, an overview of our resources and services, committee summaries and the independent auditor’s financial report. Keep reading to learn more about how our team regulated the nursing profession in 2017 on behalf of the Nova Scotian public we serve.
“2017 was a historic year for CRNNS, nurses, stakeholders and the Nova Scotian public,” shares CRNNS CEO & Registrar Sue Smith. “A new Continuing Competence Program was launched, new RN and NP Standards of Practice were developed, a new Code of Ethics was introduced and the work to co-create one nursing regulator took roots. What set last year apart though, above and beyond all of our work, was our ability to find new and innovative ways to connect with stakeholders that helped us to make informed decisions on behalf of the public. Thousands of nurses, community members and others shared their feedback with us throughout 2017 and to me, that was our biggest accomplishment of the year.”
At our 2018 AGM on May 10, Council President Ruth Whelan and CEO & Registrar Sue Smith will present highlights from the Annual Report and guests will have the chance to ask questions and learn more about our work in 2017. Additionally, those who registered as voting delegates will have an opportunity to submit and/or vote on any motions presented to the voting body. For those unable to attend the 2018 AGM, a summary of the meeting minutes will be shared externally following the event.
