On behalf of the Canadian Council of Registered Nurse Regulators (CCRNR), NSCN is sharing an opportunity for nurse practitioners (NPs) to provide feedback through a Practice Analysis Validation Survey that will inform how NPs are tested at entry-to-practice, including the focus and weighting of exam questions. This work is part of the Nurse Practitioner Regulation Implementation Plan Project (NPR-FIPP), which you can find more information about here.
A practice analysis outlines the attributes and tasks performed by a profession, and it is the foundation of creating entry-level examinations used in professional regulation. Responses to CCRNR’s NP Practice Analysis Validation Survey will play a vital role in making sure the future NP exam will accurately assess the entry-level competencies – skills, knowledge, and judgement – that NP candidates require to provide advanced nursing care to clients.
The survey is being shared via email with NPs across Canada. If you are an NP registered to practice in more than one Canadian jurisdiction, you may receive an email from each regulatory body where you are registered. Please complete the survey only once. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous and confidential.
The link to the NP Practice Analysis Validation survey was sent to NPs via email on March 20, 2024. Please view that email to complete the survey.
