In 2017, CRNNS requires that all nurses complete mandatory education as part of the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) and in order to receive a 2018 active-practising licence. There are three ways to complete the mandatory education: joining a live webinar, watching a recorded presentation or completing a workbook.
CRNNS provides continuing nursing education opportunities to RNs and NPs. Recorded sessions will be available for approximately a year following the live session date.
E-learning offers you an opportunity to experience interactive online learning based on a large topic relevant to the nursing profession. You’re able to access e-learning modules that range in topics from documentation guidelines to social media support and when needed, we’re always available to walk you through any technical issues. We encourage you to make e-learning one approach in maintaining your continuing competence.
The 2016 compassionate care e-learning module is also available to non-members for a fee. CRNNS members, including active-practising RNs, NPs and temporary licence holders, do not need to pay for access to any e-learning modules.
CRNNS Practice Consultants provide free education sessions on topics related to your professional practice. The goal of each sessions is to help support you to meet your standards of practice and professional obligations as an RN or NP.
Sessions can also be customized to meet your needs in your practice environment so we encourage you to reach out to us if you and/or your team is facing issues in a specific practice area. There are a variety of modes of delivery of the sessions – from face-to-face to telehealth to webinar – and our Practice Consultants will work with you to deliver the session in a way that supports your needs.
