Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses

The Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses promote, direct, regulate and shape the professional practice of all RNs and NPs in all practice settings in Nova Scotia. There are 5 overarching standards and each standard is separated based on the various nursing role types: all registered nurses, managers/administrators, educators and researchers. By ensuring high quality nursing practice, these standards protect the health and safety of the public.
