Print this page

The practice standards help to guide the nursing profession by outlining competencies and behaviours that all clients can expect each time they interact with an RN or NP. As a profession, we also value continuing competence and are dedicated to lifelong learning. As a mechanism to support this, RNs and NPs must participate in the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) and NPs must also participate in the Nurse Practitioner Quality Monitoring and Improvement Program (NP-QMP™).  With client care always in mind, the aim of both programs is to develop strong competencies so both nurses and clients benefit from the knowledge nurses have developed during these programs.
